Hi, im looking to add a set of srx twin race pipes and srx butterfly mikuni
twin Carbs to my 1978 ex440. I have everything installed and its running. I have a problem with lowend bog but lights up and pulls a wheely after rpms rise. I'm wondering if you have any tips for jetting? Do I need to do any exhaust porting to make it run better with pipes? Any clutching ideas? Currently using stock clutches. Im seeing post that say to try engagement at 5k. I have the air box removed but have added 7" uni filters. Do you know if anyone has been successful in making these type of mods? Just trying to make a exciter badass for oval racing in open mod!

I had a 78 440 exciter that I put twin twinn pipes back in the early 90"s. I think I took late 84 or 85 SS 440, that had pipes, comet clutch and single carb set up. I moved everthing straight over if I remember???? I got it to run pretty strong on grass but later put it all back together ( Stock) for my kids to use. Sorry this probally doesnt help your set up. anyway working nights so brain is just numb.

what I would really like to know is if the srx 440 carbs can mount in the exciter 440 without having to do to much modifications
