yeah im using wiseco now. But they wear a little quicker seems on my mod. also the bottom of the piston at skirt seems to be very thin. And i dont have a bridge intake so they tend to wear hard there and break bottom of piston if not watching often. Yamaha ones are thicker. wiseco used to make a thicker one and now they say they make then lighter.

i had wiseco's in my 78 racer when I got the motor I left them for 2 years and them put them on the shelf the sled ran better with the parts pistons which are just like the original cast ones from Yamaha we are also using the parts piston in our full mod now and have dad no problems .............original 8G9 78 srx pistons are forged dual ring piston later updated to the 8J0 single ring pistons used on the 79 and 89 srx's

here are the pics of the pistons ......first row left to right

parts unlimited - Wiseco - Wiseco pro lite - and the one in the back is a OEM Yamaha 8J0 cast sorry I do not have the 78 forged Yamaha one in the pic but the skirts on that one are the thinnest by far
