anyone ever try to run slp pipe on a lake race ported srx ??? I know they are not made for that sled but im curious if someone make the experience ..if I look at my cylinder and viper one they are not huge difference ..only big difference is the cdi that give more timing

Different exhaust length and oval shape vs round
I know they are not the same length but im curious since my cylinder are pretty similar to viper ...and I do run a viper hood and bellypan

youll have to shorten the pipes head pipes then convert them over to round flange instead of oval then your going to have to find a dyno to find out what rpm your going to make power at.
You may or may not need a differnt cdi to move the ign timing around what peak rpm you make power at.

just a question but couldn't you just change the flanges on the block to oval so no mods are needed for the pipes? I know the lengths are different but this could save time cutting and welding for him.
Thx ill try shorter manifold and see what is does

Viper has oval exha port that is no where near the same dimension as the round srx exh port is. bolt pattern is differnt on cylinders so you cant just make the flanges fit either. The cylinders have a differnt length exh port so the pipe lengths are differnt as well, if you were to put viper pipes on a srx with no pipe mod on the length it would make power way low of peak rpm and more then likely fall off of power quickly. Longer the pipe on a 2 stroke the lower the rpm will be the shorter the higher the rpm will be. When you mod pipes even as little as 3/8" can be 300-400rpm so you can see how just a little goes a long ways in the pipe length.
