Phazer Exciter lift kit brackets on Ebay

Hey guys, saw these on EBAY and was curious if anyone has tried them or not. Thinking of putting them on my sons 86 Phazer that I put a 121" in. Thanks Chris

OK for deep powder, bad for trail riding of any kind. They will put tons of pressure on the skis and make the old phazer very tippy.

x2. I cringe every time i see those. All it does is jack up the back end and throw the whole skid geometry off. It will do nothing for the ride, it will make it worse. Only way to improve travel is a skid with more travel. What skid did you put in?
 
x3 I believe I installed those same ones on my sled last year. I thought it would be a good idea until I took my sled out and the rear running board started to bend under the pressure of the mounting brackets. The weak bolts they sent with the kit broke off. Luckily I had enough tools around to make a quick change out but I have never used it again because I feel they did no good.
 
I made my own out of 1/2 inch plate and machined them to size. Raised the skid 2". I also moved the front mount hole down 1.25" to keep the skid geometry working the way it was designed to work. Stability is probably compromised a little but I love the raised seat position.
 
That was the absolute correct way to do it. Most people just toss the brackets in the rear and call it good. Enjoy! ;)! You will have more ski lift in the corners, just lean harder!

Yep Rick. Tons of ski pressure, throws off the front end caster and will follow every rut in the trail. It makes it almost impossible to make a straight line down the trail.
 
On my old GPX and my wifes 340 Enticer, we tapered the tunnel. Took a small wedge from the tunnel about an inch above the running boards, Pushed that up and re riveted the two pieces together, it worked really well on those old sleds
