I need to remove my skis from my sled. It's a 96 VMax 600 XT. It has the old style pogo front suspension. I need to put the shims on this summer. However when I tried to take off the skis last winter, well lets put it this way, the bolts lost to the can of WD-40 and the wrench. Anyhoo... I need to replace these bolts and screws. The local dealer will order them in for me but he wants like $4 each for them. I know I can get them way cheaper just from a hardware store. The dealer even told me to go to the hardware store. The thing is... the sled is up north and I am not. When we go up north there usually isn't time to do too many trips to go to the store when you are there. I need to know what size these bolts are. Length? Diameter? How much thread do I need? Should I get ones that are only partially threaded? Should I use a nylon lock nut?
