Has everyone seen this?

This was brought up at State meeting this weekend.

Club members,

The DNR has proposed a" VERY POPULAR HOLIDAY HUNT" for Dec 24-Jan 4, 2015.
in a Farmland Zone ( which covers our whole area) or S.of Hwy. 64. There was
also talk of a Statewide holiday hunt.

If this proposal passes :THERE WILL BE NO SNOWMOBILING / SNOWSHOEING
/TOBBOGONING OR SKIING BETWEEN CHRISTMAS AND NEWYEARS.

WHAT CAN YOU DO??? Go to this website and in the red box click DTR Rule
Package Survey before November 6th. Make sure you click the oppose Holiday
Hunt box. If you do not want to or care about filling out the rest of the
survey you have to at least mark undecided on all other questions.

Short cut direct to the survey http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DTRrule

Now is not the time to let someone else fill out the form. The DNR needs to
hear that this is NOT a very popular Holiday Hunt. Take the time and fill it
out. Pass this email to fellow snowmobilers around the state.

Thank you!

There's rarely snow south of 64 by new years weekend anyway. Heck you are lucky if trails are open north of there by then. I don't see a problem with it.

This is a HUGE issue we have been dealing with this for the last few years because we are in a CWD zone. Last year for an example we could only open a portion of our trails because we had some land owners that wanted to hunt during the holiday hunt so by the time the hunt was over so was the snow. In the past 5 year I know that this has happened twice in Richland County. Really sucks because we have such a short season here anyway. Why cant the DNR just go back to the 9 day hunt or even expand it to a 16 day hunt and just get it over with. Having all this differnet seasons dosen't help with the hunting because theres not alot of people hunting at one time moving the deer around. JMO

Just another reason to sled in Michigan. We do our very best to stay out of Wisconsin as much as possible. Heck I even try to buy our gas at the last station in IL or MN when passing through. Al

Like I have predicted in the past, Michigan will see record amounts of snow fall. The UP will have an especially early season, The lower upper half will see ridable snow in Early Dec, great snow by the 20th. Wisconsin will have below average temps, with much below average snow fall if any. Basically Wisconsin weather will be colder than a Witches *it! Just saying.

Eh, it will be yet another really good snowmobile season here in Wisconsin. And try all you want, any Illinois'ers will at least buy gas in Wisconsin on their way to the up. When they see the great trail systems here with a lot of snow, they won't drive any further up north.

I'm just being realistic.

I have always wanted to visit Cedarburg and visit the Keikiefer Plant if it still exist's Carl was a revolutionist when it came to Mercury motors. Very blunt but also very keen. Al

Cedarburg is a nice little town. No kiekhaefer plant anymore, but we do still have the remnants from all the chemicals that plant left. The town and the city of cedarburg are fighting to see who pays for that multi million dollar remediation. I think kiekhaefer/ mercury marine should foot the bill.
That said we have an awesome Norman Rockwell esque downtown, micro brewery, winery, good restaurants, and other attractions.

If you ever get up here, send me a pm, I'll buy you a drink or two.

Tom
