HAVE MOST OF YOU GUYS JUST BYPASSED YOUR SYSTEM OR IS IT STILL HOOKED UP. I BYPASSED MINE ON MY 02 SRX LAST NIGHT. JUST CURIOUS. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I really don't understand why people bypass them. I only had trouble with it a few times, too tight cable etc. The last time I had to replace the button thing, worked fine after that.

I would personally NOT run it with it disabled, if the cable tension is set right they work 99.99% of the time. I have a phazer 500 coming in for rebuild of the whole frontend and bent tunnel because the tors was bypassed, started up the sled and it took off and smashed into a tree way out in the yard. Needless to say it is totaled.. but I told him I could make it rideable again with a little bit of work.
Thats not the only cassde of it either, I have seen a few before with the same thing. Its a safety feature thats important, you might not think so,but once you see what happens without it, youll want it working correctly.

There is no performance gain or anything to be better by disabling it or running the throttle cable tight, it will still fully open up the carbs set at 1/8" slack in the cable.

Coulden't agree more Don! I run 38's on my srx, and have added the tors on them beqouse in my opinion it's crazy to run without it!
Wife and doughter also rides the srx sometimes and i wouldent allow it without tors..
Can't understand why you want to disable them? Only annoying with it would be a little cableslack that one get use to pretty quick, or?

mines strictly a race sled now but I disabled and went with just the tether back when it was still a trail sled. I was running TMX 38's and besides having no possible way I could see to hook the TORS switch to the carbs I also had to shave the throttle block down in order to get full throttle out of the carbs. That did away with the switch at the throttle lever.

What exactly does the tors switch do? How does it know the difference of me holding the throttle wide open or say ice sticking it open or a bad cable jamming it open etc?

I see.. Not easy to get TORS to work if you run tmx's, i'm running machz 38's and getting TORS to work with them is not a big deal. Never liked the tether but sometimes you dont have any other options.. Sledding without any of these safety stuff (TORS,tether etc.) is cracy! You can ask my brother in law, he crashed his zrt 800 (:whine:) with a sticky throttle into a ditch! He was lucky to walk away with only a shoulder injury.
