My first Yamaha, I could really use some info here. So the story goes like this: Just purchased from a friend who claims this is 22 of 22 built by Pat Hauck, and was Pat's personal sled. I ran it a few times last year on the ice, this thing shoves. Not sure what pipes are on it, other than they are Hauck. It runs on 93 octane. I have always raced Arctic Cat, so I don't know anything about Yamaha's. I would really appreciate anything you guys may know about this sled, pipes, history, performance, ideas...

those are CPR pipes, run good around 9200. Other than the roller secondary it's hard to tell much else from the pics. I'm not big on rollers for what I do but it depends what you want. Also looks like a hauck red primary spring (could be an orange though, does it look red or orange in person). I would post the helix letter code (should have a letter stamped on the face; V, G, K, etc) and the weights in the primary. I had a few Vipers that had Hauck clutch kit in them when I got them that had Yamaha 8dn10's with nuts n bolts in the tips. If that's what you have I personally don't have very good opinions of that set-up. Either way, sled looks super clean!

Looks like some room for improvement on the primary full shift marks. Could get the belt a bit higher.

good eye, to add to that the belt is sitting pretty low in the secondary also so belt deflection may need to be looked at. Being a Hauck sled it could also have a speed sheave in the primary which may have something to do with both of these observations.

Was this a series of sleds he sold on the showroom floor at 1 time in 2002 or 2003?
As the very first viper hauck had,has no vin in the tunnel and the sticker on the tunnel for the manufacture says "2000" year, it was the first sled he had from yamaha. The reason I know this is I worked on it at haydaysand Pat was there in the pits with us. Pat sold it to a friend of mine, it was set up as a improver race sled.

Seen this sled today at Tims race track (co-owner of T&R Yamaha) here in Mancelona...its as pretty in person as it is in pics. Didn't stick around long enough to see how she runs.
