I have an 02 viper, no reverse, non elec. start. I have a chance to buy another 02 viper with reverse but the engine needs to be rebuilt. What I want to do is swap the engine out of my sled and put in the new one. The new one has reverse. Can I swap these and can I install the reverse onto the other engine. I guess I would keep the wire harness with the engine it came with, is that right or wrong. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can take the reverse off the blown up sled and put it on your sled ALOT easier than changing a motor. Consists of cover (inside half of chain case is the same) guts/levers. Theres a write up in the tech section. If sled with blown motor is in better shape then yes you can just unbolt/unplug everything and swap them around. I would leave harness with the sled it came with. ALOT of zip ties and chasing how they ran where. You will need to pull the primary clutch off to get engine to come out. If you don't have an alignment tool you will need to get one for setting motor back in straight and measure center to center on clutches.
