hey fellas, I installed a water temp gauge to keep an eye on water temps and to dial the sled in a bit better for speed runs. For all you lake racers, what water temps do you like to see before running the gun? I know to put serious heat in the pipes before i run but don't want to heak soak the engine as well and was wondering what these SRX motors run fastest at what water temp? thanks

don't forget the air temp going into the engine. I used a cheap thermometer with outside probe attached to the top of the box so I could see what the carbs were getting for air. amazing how much air difference there is in incoming air between lake and trail.

70-80 degree coolant temp with prior heated(smokin hot) pipes produce good results. You need the pipes to be hotter then the coolant. You need the coolant to at least be warm enough to provide some heat expansion so you dont cold seize the engine.
