Reverse

My RS Venture reverse lever by design locks in place. The 2000 Phaser Deluxe I just picked up does not. Is it supposed to be that way? Meaning you have to hold the reverse lever down that is on the same side as the throttle? Seems a little awkward but I haven't actually used it yet.

You shouldnt have to. Sounds like it may need adjusting or its binding somewhere not allowing it to lock into place.
