Hey Guys,
I did some searching and can't seem to find my problem. I have an Srx 600 with an idle hang issue only around 3500 RPM. If I rev it slowly up to 3500 it will hang until the clutch engages then it will slow down. It seems to only hang around the clutch engagement speed. The carbs are clean and cables are adjusted appropriately. Any one had this problem? Any help is appreciated!

If you could, post a video of what exactly is happening. Usually you notice an idle hang when letting off the throttle and the sled won't return to idle. So just to be sure we're talking about the same thing a vid would help.

I will try to grab a vid tomorrow. It is hanging when I let off the throttle but only when the engine speed is greater than ~3500 RPM. It doesn't seem to hang below that. Thanks

My viper did and sometimes still does but turning the idle down helped a ton. I knew it wasnt the carbs because it did it with 2 sets. Motor just likes to idle high...

Idle hang is typically what staggs is referring to. I think what the op has is simply too high of an idle. When was the last time you had the carbs synched? If one is opening before the others, it will do what you are describing.

isn't this just be the engine starting to run on the pipes? if a picture is worth a million words, then a video on this is worth a billion!

It could be possibly running a little lean. Try a larger set of pilot jets. OR, adjusting the fuel screws. Too bad they are such a pain to get at.

I would adjust the fuel screws to 2 turns out and set your idle to a low rpm. It helped my bothers and my Viper.

I uploaded a video here:
I am going to try to pull the carbs again this weekend and take the pilots out 2 turns (currently 1 1/2) and see if that helps. I have the idle set to around 1800 RPM, should I go lower than this? Oh also you can see at the end of the video my Tach light is going out, is there a common place where these wires short?
Thanks again for all your help!

I might lower the idle a little, that might help to. I have my Viper idling around 1400 rpm's.

I have mine running around 1700, I think factory spec is 1800.

My viper had this issue and it was cause of the oil line.. Should be 22mm, sometimes the adjuster pulls apart. Maybe check that? solved my problems!
