I searched this question and did not have any luck. Does anyone have specific info on how the 600 CDI box is programmed ?
I am told that the 600 CDI retards the timing at a higher RPM, and also has a more agressive timing curve.
I have a lead on a used CDI box, I am wondering if swapping the CDI would make much of a diffrence.
Just trying to get a little more HP out of the old iron.

I was told not to run a 600 srx cdi on an srx 700 if your going over 660 ft you will melt the motor down.

It has come up on a few threads, Some say stock motor its fine, other say it will lead to a burn down. Some say if your ported its fine. I have a 98 600 CDI on my 99 700, as far as I know motor is bone stock. I have had CDI on this sled for 2 years with out an issue. I don't get out on any lakes with it, longest WOT pull has ben a mile or less. I can tell you I noticed a BIG difference in sled, ALOT more snappy. Seems to run crisper.

Interesting......
I am making a few changes on my 98, switching to the lighter rotor and 13 wide gears.
What kind of RPM are you running, I am told I might have to add weight or lossen the secondary a little to keep the RPM down around 8500 with the 600 CDI box.
Thanks for the input.

It seems to me the 98-99s are supposed to be running 8350 RPM, the 00's+ are supposed to be 8500. Makes sure your adding fuel for the added timing (jetting) Seems like I was turning 8400 pretty regular. Having 5 sleds fogs memories on some details.......
