last weekend i overheated because of low snow conditions.
I was searching the web and came across some info on the rear heat exchanger for the viper. it was actually the factory service bulletin for this overheating issue. on the bulletin it states that the kit to resolve this problem is 8ek-rhecr-kt-00 the cost of this kit is aprox $50.00.
i know that the part # for the heat exchanger is listed as 8df-1241a-11-00
and it is $181.00 Are these 2 things the same
Here is the bulletin www.zenitram-inc.com/Manuals/s2002-007.pdf
any help would be appreciated

There were some dealers that as recent as last year were still getting the offer. I don't recall which ones they were, but if you spent enough time checking with dealers you might find one. Use the offer part # and have them check to see if they can order it.

Ran into the same problem...no 50.00 deal anymore...paid the 180.00 or what ever it was.....definately worth it....no problems since, over 2500 miles ago!

I have the rear heat exchanger ($180 from yamaha) AND the rear heat exchanger protector ($~100 from Yamaha) for sale. I will sell both for $120. You need rear heat exchanger protector if you have studs!

I was on ronnies.com and typed in the part # for the kit and it came up as 50 bucks.
i think i just need to go in to the dealer or call ronnies and see what happens.
thank god there was enough snow this weekend that it wasn't a factor.
please let me know if you find out anything
