running 136" with 9 tooth drivers want to gear down
is ther a way to figure or compare gearing with 8 ot 9 tooth drivers
a freind has a mountain Viper with 22/40 8t his final ratio?
compared to mine 21/38 9tooth final ratio?
how does a guy go about this??????????/

The easiest way to figure it out is to multiply by 1.13, this will give you the ratio with a 8 tooth driver instead of 9 tooth. Dont go to 8 tooth drivers unless you are going to stud it, its harder to bend the track around the smaller driver, eats up free HP. So his 22/40 with 8 tooth drivers is a 2.05 ratio. You have a 1.81 ratio with your gearing and 9 tooth drivers. To be the same as his, youd want a 19/39.

Do you HAVE to regear it? I would have thought you'd get a better holeshot with the 8tooth driver while maintaining 9t gearing. I am wrong?

I am running 9t driver with 21-38 gearing, think I will need to go lower for the west mountain trip need to rip on the hills!! was trying to see haow close I was to a stock moutain Viper.

sled seems to rip on the trails, but will boog down in the deep?
i can be turning 9000 and hit a soft spot goes for 50-100'
and the sled boogs bad some time it is close to cutting stuck
when I get thru the soft it seems to be loaded up?? and need to clean out
