hey lads bought a couple of 93 vmax 500s a black LE and a red one both have electric start ,put the motor from the red one into the black one ran it for about 10 minutes then it blew the low beams then the high beams and tail lights , is there any difference in electrical between the two sleds I found the regulator on the red body and the wiring but don't see it on the black one any ideas

thanks

May want to verify the year, and that they are both the same year. Vmax 500's didn't start until model year 1994.
Both have electric start, so are they both LE models, or is the red one a std Vmax with an add on kit? I would certainly expect if they are both the same year and both LE models, the electrical would be the same. Even if the red one had the factory kit installed, the electrical should then be very similar to the LE, although some components/wiring may be located or routed a bit differently.
The black one should have a regulator as well, if it is bad or removed/bypassed, then the voltage may be too high for the bulbs especially as rpm increases. You can also test the voltage with a multimeter at the bulb socket(s).
