I just bought my first snowmobile which is a 2002 Mountain Max. It needs a right trailing arm and some other things. When I look for trailing arms on ebay, i would like to know what other models are compatible with the Mountain Max. Are Viper, Srx, Vmax parts able to fit on the Mountain max? This would give me more choice of parts when looking for them. Thankyou in advance.

I believe most the body parts (hood, belly pans) are the same as the 97-02 sx/vmax chassis. As far as trailing arms, any srx, vmax/sx/sxr should fit. I recently powerwashed my sx700 and discovered the trailing arms were blue srx trailing arms painted black... Kinda interesting.

Not all trailing arms are the same. You need to match the stamping on the very front of the trailing arm facing forward. The MMs have a narrower stance and different caster & camber than the other sleds. If you were in a pinch, just about anything will fit, but would have different angles. Except the Viper/Venom arms they have a longer & different size tube for the spindle.

Don't the SRX arms use different length radius rods? So there is a camber change as the suspension cycles? In all the SRX pictures I have seen.

Believe or not the sx and SRX are the exact same trailing arm. Both are short travel and should be stamped V I believe. Just it being blue could have ben from any of the sleds you mentioned. I believe the longer travel (venture/SxR/Vmax) are stamped R and I believe the Mtn Viper is stamped with a M...the rest I am not sure.

Well I guess I was incorrect then? Pretty sure my sx was crashed and has trailing arms from either an srx or sxr because they're blue painted black

Sx/SRX arms came down same line....stamped V painted red for the Sx, blue for 98-99-00 SRX and silver for 01-02 SRX. if its stamped V its correct geometry, If its stamped R its slightly different angles but I wouldn't expect much of a difference in how it rides

The N viper arms I swapped onto my mm seemed to go right on with no alignment issues. Are the mm arms the ones with the 3 degree angle change in the arm bracket from a regular sx, or just between viper and mtn viper?

They are all such slight differences it's nothing you'd realize during installation but it will come into play during the cycling of the suspension. Again nothing you'll ever know by looking at it.
