Still haven't had a chance to try out my 2000 SRX since I bought it. Guy I got it from says it has a Hauck clutch set up in it, he bought the sled from Hauck. Primary spring has no markings but has the 89a 10 weights, secondary looks to have the stock helix, spring looks to have a white or very light silver marking. I'll have to check and see what the wrap is on the spring. From what I've described so far, does this look more like a top speed/lake set up or trail set up?

lake/top speed is my guess. i believe hauck used 89a-10 weights. what color is primary spring ? hard to believe it has stock helix, but could be. secondary could have silver marked yamaha spring. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Spring is black. If this is a lake set up how would that work on trails?

the 89a-10 weights are not as aggressive as a like say 8bu-00, so these will be more trail/ lake friendly. i would get this out and try it, than go from there. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I just got it out for a ride, lots of power and she ran great in this 6 degree weather. I didn't have a very big stretch to open up but it definitely feels more like a lake/speed set up. I might want to set it up more for trail riding, what would I need to change in the clutches if I wanted to do that?

Seems like it could have a better backshift, it's a totally different feel than my SX. I'm gonna wait till the trails open and ride it for a while before I make any changes, kinda hard to get a good feel for it just riding around my yard. This is my first SRX and I'm really liking it so far! :-)

I took it out again for a little while today, I really don't care for they way the clutches are set up. I'll get on the gas for a little while then let off, when I get back on it it seems kinda doggy like it's in too high of a gear, it's not so good in powder either. I guess I'd rather have it set up more for tight trails through the woods instead of lake/speed riding, which I don't do alot of. What kind of changes would I need to make to this thing to make it better for my kinda of riding?

THERE IS A SETUP HERE USEING THE STOCK WEIGHTS WITH AFEW CHANGES THATS ROUNDS THIS INTO A GREAT ALL - AROUND SET-UP.
YAMAHA W-W-W SPRING WITH STOCK WEIGHTS -8DN-20 LOADED. YOU HAVE TO RESEARCH WhAT HELIX . ALOT HERE LOVE THIS. I WOULD CHANGE YOUR SET-UP. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Ok, so what exactly do I need for this set up? I have an extra helix....51/45, would that work?
should work fine with a green secondary spring and w-w-w primary if I remember ..u will need to tune the primary for the helix

I don't have the stock weights, I would probably trade, do you have any of the other parts I would need for that set up? I really don't know much about clutching yet and I could use all the help I can get to get this thing set up the way I want it.
