worth restoring? I've got one I'd like to save but not if it's not worth the effort.
defiantly worth restoring, jus be careful, vintage can turn into a very expensive addiction,

I want to get it fired up and running before I tear it apart so I know all is good. Right now it has no spark. I found an old service manual for it but unfortunately just about everything for the engine and electrical refers you to the gp338 manual.

start buy disconnecting the ignition switch and the tether switch and see if you have spark if still no spark double check all connections but most likely the cdi is junk 74-75 gpx 76 srx and 76 ecxicters all run the same cdi

I wouldn't bet on the CDI, I would look to the coils under the flywheel and even the external coil first. Easy to test and verify if bad.

thanks for the advice guys, this one isn't very high on the priority list just yet. I will post back with what I find when I get another chance to look at it.

Little note one these stators they rarely fail ....same with the coils ...can it happen yes ...but these cdi's are so touchy that if you look at them wrong they can go bad I have a pile of about 20 that are bad ones
