I just picked up a advant-edge helix I was told it acts like 54-44. When I measured it it is actually a 48-40. Is this going to be all right for the hauck roller secondary? on a 2001 srx with 8DN-20 with 4.5's in both (loaded) roller at 80 hauck black spring. Thanks for your input.

i have used a hauck roller for years. the rule of thumb is, 4-6deg flatter than a non roller. my guess is, your going to be some where near as a 54/44 is a great all around helix in a srx using stock weights. On a roller, your going to want a different spring. Green yamaha or better yet, blue/yellow polaris.

How much different is the Polaris spring and the yamaha green? I have a green for another setup.

The 8dn20 weight is not very aggressive so you can shift them pretty hard with a aggressive helix and come out with a good running set up. The roller will make the sled very revy, and quick backshifting for on and off the gas. If I use 8dn20s in a srx I use a big helix. Youll need a decent amonut of twist out back to controll the overshift, rollers will take alot more tension needed then a button clutch from the lack of friction on the ramps.

Should I look into changing the front weights to something different? Or stick with a 53/45 helix green spring at 60. I mainly ride trail but like to race once in a while. Like to see a 12 year old sled pass some of the new ones. Thanks again for the input.
