I've read that a 96 single exhaust is gyt and would be an upgrade on a 95 If imagine a minor jet change would be in order? This is on my back burner list in case I run across a 96 pipe somewhere I'd possibly do the swap. It would be for my 95 dx 2 up. Ordinarily and realistically I'm sure it wouldn't make much difference but since it will be used to ride two up I'd consider the upgrade.

just an upgraded pipe, not a gyt, but higher flow than the 94-95 pipes and a slight power increase.
use baseline jetting from the 96 as well as the clutching baseline. you have to use both the y-pipe and the main pipe as a set from the 96, you cant mix and match and get the performance gain. also, the bracketry for the pipe needs to be modified. if i remember right, the tab that supports the silencer portion is what you will be modifying.

yes the 96 pipe is the gyt pipe for the 94-95 sleds I have all the set-up sheets for it I will scan them in and post when I get time these pipes run at 8000 rpms and make a bit of difference ....you will need the pipe and Y-pipe to do the swap not just the pipe itself
