i purchased a F4 before last season and i loved it. the only issue i had was my chin tended to be the first thing to get rather cold. does KLIM make anything for the helmet to close off the chin area to wind?

also i have a set of spy targa goggles. these fit inside the helmet but are a bit small, leaving small areas of my face exposed to the elements. what goggles have you found to fit the best providing the best coverage?

thanks for all the insight in advance!!!!

No personal experience tip but when talking with the dealer (my friend has a klim helmet) and they stated their new goggles fit the helmets perfect. Which most of the time that is the case like 509 gear. They were a bit pricey at over a hundo for a pair. Also as far as i know know makes a "chin curtin" for a MX style helmet as its open to help vent helmet and alow your breath to go down and out. Try a klim balaclava either the covert or the arctic. Read nothing but good about them. If i do go MX i will go the the arctic as it has a built in breath deflector kinda like the no fog system. Both have the wind block at chin and neck area to help with your problem of chin getting cold.

I've been wearing MX helmets on words for well over 15 years, maybe 20.

At any rate, you absolutely need a balaclava when you go MX helmet. I've got a couple different balaclava/ face mask combos. The join one gets good reviews, but mine are arctiva, a no fog brand one, and a couple of other ones.

I absolutely recommend a Goggle that you can buy a nose and face shield that are a part of the goggle.

Whatever goggles you buy, make sure they fit you in your helmet. The nose/ face protection of the accessories that snap onto the goggles is another key thing.

I'm not sold on the 509 brand. They are cheap afx helmets, over priced and over hyped. Google from them are so so. Still over hyped though.

Smith, and Scott make great goggles. Oakley too. I've got a pair of castle goggles the wife gave me last year work well too. She bought them for my hjc helmet because they match, and are mirror finish. Figures the woman would go for style over substance, but they work well.

Oh yeah lots of options for lenses too. Only buy dual pane ones, and then there's color of the lens to. Yellow polarized is myall around favorite. You can wear those at night, no problem, but those mirror Gray castles are too dark for night use.
