We purchased a 2004 Viper 700 last winter and it is equipped with electric start. Well it hasn't worked since we got it. We are assuming that we need to purchase a new battery. Problem is, we have NO idea where the battery even is. Anyone want to help me out and tell me where I would find the battery on this machine?? I am not able to pull start either of our sleds and it would be nice to be able to start this one up and take my kids for a ride when my husband isn't here. Please help me out!! :)

Thanks in advance.

Nicole

It is under the hood right next to the muffler, below the reverse lever. It has a cover over it held in place with a rubber strap. Hope this is a good enough explanation.

Welcome to the site! Battery should be right in front of your right foot if you were setting on sled. Should have a black plastic cover over it with a +/- symbols. If this was a factory E start sled the battery acts as a smoothing coil/condenser for the charging system and should be replaced either way. Where ever you choose to purchase new battery should be able to test yours and make sure its bad. Has there ben any other pre-season maintenance? Any mods to sled? I only ask due to todays fuel carbs should be cleaned every year and needles need to be adjusted to promote a healthy happy engine. Some swear by the opti-cool head gasket as well.
