I am about to rejett my Vmax 600 -94. The dealer thought that I should use 151,3 main jets and 45 pilot jets. Putting them on for christmas... Will I have a leanout and burn my pistons before new years eve with these jettings or what?
I mostly ride at an altitude of 600-1200 meters (300-2000 feet).

I had a jetting question earlier about my 96' vmax but nobody replied.I guess nodody wants to commit and have my engine go. I dropped my pilot jet to 45 from 50.Runs at idle much better. My mains are 152.5 which i was going to lower also. I'm going to change the head gasket to a thinner one first. Will this change anything concerning jetting ? anyone? I would say give it a shot but make sure you check the plugs. Let us know how ya make out.

I ran 148.8 mains in my 96 600 with the thin head gasket and never had any problems. I also had the floats set to the lean side of the range. There was a tech bulletin in early 97 about this. See if you can get a copy from your dealer. I dont have mine anymore.
I did run the "warm air" kit on the airbox to help prevent frosting of the air jets when running in powder. When it got real cold out I switched it to under hood air for a little margin of safety. It was still plenty rich.

148.8, Needles at 2 1/2 on the 96 and 151.3, Needles at 2 1/2 on the 94/95 is what I have down for the jetting specs....you have any other mods????
No other engine mods for me just gearing and roller secondary.
I'm confused, 148.8 or 151.3 for the 96?

thinner head gasket on the pre96 vmax 600 twins
I put the thin head gasket in tonight. Boy I wish I did it a long time ago . Nice improvement and easy too. The .6 was less than half the thickness of the old one(1.5 */-). Are ya sure about the pilot needle at 1.5 and not 2.5 That would make it even richer,yes/no?
Would the gasket alone make a difference in mpg. I was thinking maybe now she'll burn more of the fuel it's bin getting?
Thanks for all the help!

2 1/2 on the fuel screw....might be a better starting point....at idle and partial throttle
