Was out on my maiden voyage this last week now that we have over a foot of snow. Was cruising about 45/50 through a field and hit a hidden rock. The damage to the sled was just the slightly bent arm as you can see in the pic, easy enough to fix but it rocked me to the core. My right wrist hurt for days!
Problem started almost immediately after the hit. Anytime I would come to a stop and then hit the gas the tors would kick in and the sled would not move until I let off the gas and re-hit the throttle several times. Did that all the way home.
After some trouble shooting it seems my thumb throttle is sticking (not pressing in the tors switch before pulling carb cables). I know that handle bar hit my hand pretty good when I smashed the rock, what could have happened to the throttle? Nothing looks broken, does it all come apart? I was thinking I will take the thumb throttle/tors assembly apart and put it back together and hope the problem goes away but if anyone has ever experienced something like this it would be interesting to hear about it.

there are plastic collars on each side of the pin that holds the flipper to the perch. if you hit hard enough to hurt your wrist, you may have jarred these or they may have even been worn.
there is also a metal spring wire affair that holds the cables to the perch. you may have knocked it out of place or it could even be gone.
throttle perch could also be cracked as well as the flipper. its not a split perch so your grip needs removed if your going to remove the perch. you can do alot of service to it by simply loosening the phillips screw on the underside and rotating the perch, the remove the cover for the switches.
give the entire assembly a good once over. under the sticker on the stop button is a small phillips securing the button itself. you may need to get that out of the way.

Thanks Snowdad4, I'll dig into it this weekend and see if I can get it straightened out. While diagnosing it in the garage once I got home it seemed like it would hang trying to push in the tors switch so I am thinking it should be an easy fix, will know more later - appreciate the comments!

Well I am guessing my hand just jammed the works up. I took it all apart, cleaned it, applied some silicone lubricant and it seems to be working like a champ now! Also installed a plug for a heated shield while I was in there digging around. Thanks for the help everyone! Merry Christmas!
