I have two issues. One being that they sled wont go past 100mph. The sled is all stock besides reeds picks down the middle and a maxx roller clutch in the secondary with unknown weights and springs. I think this is where my issue lies. I put a stck button clutch on form another srx and my top end got even worse. With the roller clutch if I bag on it out of the hole it will go to about 8000 rpm the settle around 7600-7800. with the stock clutch it will go to about 7500 and level out at about 7000 and ill only get about 85mph on the top end. I weigh about 160 so im not to heavy. im running on low snow ice condition on the lake I live on so not too much drag either. as I said before I believe there I more to be desired in m clutching.
Secondly it wont do cold starts. I can pull on the cord all day and it wont turn over. but as soon as I spay gas into one cylinder and pull it over it starts on the first or second pull every time. carbs were cleaned and synced 200 miles ago so I don't believe its my choke plunger getting hung up. Let me know what you guys think!
Heres the current clutch setup that I am unaware of what it has as far as weights and springs.

1. PROBLEM MAY LIE IN YOUR PRIMARY CLUTCH. I WAS GONNA SUGGEST STOCK SECONDARY BACK ON UNTIL YOU POSTED PROBLEM GOT WORST. HAVE YA CHECKED OUT YOUR PRIMARY CLUTCH. 2. STARTING PROBLEM SOUNDS POSSIBLEY A FUEL PUMP ISSUE BECAUSE YOU POSTED YOU NEED TO PRIME THIS TO START. 3:16 (yammie tony)

ok, well youll need to find out what the helix is its marked on it, and also what weights and what spring is in the front clutch, with that low of rpm its all mismatched and a problem.
for the start, you do know the choke has 2 positions right? are you fully opening the choke lever, as the lever will almost flip over backwards??

Have you checked the power valves for pukk throughs?
Upper rpm is way low so the primary clutch is where I would be looking as well.

Whooped/broken reeds can cause starting issue. If they are bad enough they can hurt performance. Worth checking
Where in Wisconsin are you? If your close I'd lend a hand, I can't stand by and let a SRX live like that.

well I believe I have found my issue. when I did take it out I did hit some pretty big drifts causing some things to shake around under the hood. well I looked under there again today and I noticed I was missing the right exhaust doughnut and some springs were broke. I did a cold compression test and got 115 across the board, cold and with no exhaust doughnut. Then I put one in grabbed some springs and got the exhaust right. took it out and it hits 8500 rpm every time and pulllllls! then I did another compression test at operating temp and got around 118 across the board, its a pretty old comp tester so im not too worried about the comp. im sure if I got another tester I would read a diff number. thanks for the help guys! and ssrrxx im in racine Wisconsin lets go for a ride sometime. im up north all the time!
