I recently bought a HC primary kit off Ebay. It was advertised as a Viper kit which would be a 40-10. I was in the process of installing them when I noticed that the heel contacts the sheeve at about, what I believe, is half shift. Please correct me if I am wrong, but these are not a 40-10 kit, right?

Small rollers will make it hit. May have to notch to have the clearance says it right in the OE clicker manual 15.6mm rollers is the way to go yes they are 40-10's but they have been revised like 3 or 4 times

Here is a pic of it out of the clutch. It seems like it would need a deep notch to operate. The pics of the ones i have searched have a "dog leg" looking heel.

those are not the bolt in 40-10 but the previous ones, you would need to notch the sheave to have clearance for the heel, those were the 2nd generation weights. They are still good but you have to notch the sheave. The later ones you didnt have to they just bolted in.

Ok, thanks guys. I was thinking it would be a small amount needed to clearance the weight. But if these will work, I will get the cutting tools out. Thanks again!

I used those the first year they came out. mine were even a little different looking than those. Mine were gold. Around that time you had a few people whose clutches broke in this spot after blowing a belt. The theory was the weight with no belt to push on slammed open and flexed past the clearance to hit the clutch, combined with the newly weakened area. Hard to prove for sure. Make sure you use set screws on the pins to help make it a stronger unit once you get it set up.
