I am going to move to 3.25 on my viper. Does the non power valve 700 engine require the same thing because of the gas. ect.ect. Should I move it to 3.25 also. I dont want more problems just no lean or run to rich.
Thanks Joe

I have never heard of a .25 position on the needle clip. I have always seen it referenced as a full or half position based on the shim position referenced to the clip. That being said, I run 3.5 needles on my mountain max vs 3.0 for stock. I have reeds/reed spacers/can and have not noticed any loss of performance and my plugs have always read good. I have a little bit of soot on my belly pan from being slightly rich, but I'm also riding at the upper limit of my altitude curve and was always warmer last year. I can't say I've been pounding powder at -20 and 3000', that might change the ball game completely.

If your carbs have 2 shims around the needle's clip then you can go to 1/4 positions.
