Hi I was wondering if a set of sxr or viper front shocks will fit on a 1998 vmax xtc. Front ends seem similar, but I'm just not sure.
any help would be appreciated
thanks

I believe SXR shocks are too short (SXR is not a long travel sled). I installed a set of 4 viper shocks in my 2001 V-max this year. No other parts were needed, it's a direct swap.

Your XTC came with rebuildable shocks. Curious why you would change them. And for the record, SX are short travel, SXR are long travel and are a straight swap. My avatar to the left is MY 97 XTC being launched by yours truly. Still own this sled, the 1st new machine I ever bought. Still rides and handles very well.

Well I bought the sled as a project and it was wrecked so the whole right side needs repaired. Shock is bent and I can't seem to find any shocks off of an xtc Just looking for other options any other ideas? And cool photo btw viper_dave

sxr, viper, venture, phazer, and mountainmax shocks will fit. vmax sx and srx require brackets to install but will lower the front end of sled. You can get a suspension place to rebuild and put a new shaft in the shocks your have (im assuming their aluminum bodied rebuildables)
