I recently had to do some repair work to the front of my '97 VMAX 700 SX. I had to take the manifold off to make room to get at certain other parts. When I took out one of the lower bolts maybe a half quart of coolant ran out of the hole. When I reassembled I didn't do anything to the bolts and now I have a massive coolant leak that I didn't have before I took off the manifold. Is this probably my issue and if so what can I use to seal it up? Thank you very much for any responses.

When you say manifold you mean exhaust manifold? If so and coolant came out you have some big problems there. I dont have a red head but have worked on a few and it sounds as if someone may have retapped that bolt and got into the coolant passage and then just sealed it up with locktight or somthing. Can be fixed and retapped but that jug will have to come off to do it right. This is just IMO with the info you stated, im sure someone who know's these sleds better will chime in.

Excuse my ignorance please but what exactly do you mean about RTV type stuff?

RTV is a sealant or gasket type material. Better silicone?? Would help to seal threads so coolant would not leak out.

To be honest with you I don't remember seeing anything on it I just remember taking out the middle lower bolt and as I was taking it out coolant began to leak out of the hole. I didn't do anything else with the engine other than take off the exhaust manifold so I figure that must have something to do with it

^^^. It sounds like this is what u should be looking into. U might be able to use a small mirror and flashlight to see if the hole is through that coolant jacket.
