what would cause the gas to come out overflow?
i just cleaned the carbs and havnt pulled them back off yet but was curtious if anyone had a similiar problem? it doesnt sound vary crisp at idle but seems to run ok when riding but im sure theres room for improvment!! it does smoke pretty good at idle.. im gonna pull carbs back off and check out and put new plugs in and see if that does it!
any ideas???
thanx for any advise!!

i was thinkin that float was stuck open too.. but wanted to opinions!!! thanku for your time!!!
MERRY XMAS!!

Not hijacking, just wanted to ask/add... if the o-rings are bad would this let fuel by even if floats are operating properly and cause a flooding or overflow condition?

Yes. Those o rings seal fuel from flooding complete carb body. When they get old or brittle this can really cause a problem. Found here that fuel with ethanol destroys them o rings. 3:16 (yammie tony)

X2 on the yes. If engine is running fuel pump is pushing fuel. O-rings must resist that push. If not fuel will completely fill carb and push it out the vent tubes.
