So another question in my quest to change my track out. So far got the secondary off, speedo cover off, all set screws out both shafts, gears and chain off, caliper off and pbrake cable off, all the case bolts. The case does not want to pull off so what am I missing? Do the snap rings need to come out at the bearings? I have read through so many how to threads and the tech section but im struggling like a mofo here. First timer of course. Anyone wanna come help out a newbie? :o|

Is it moving at all? If it isn't moving I think you missed a bolt. If it has some play you may need to pry on it a little or tap the shafts with a rubber mallet. It has been a couple of years since I had mine apart but I don't remember it being difficult to remove. And no the snap rings do not need to come off, the shafts should simply pull through the bearings. You should be able to pull the jackshaft out first so you are only fighting the drive shaft when you are trying to remove the chaincase. Good luck.

if there is know movement , check and see if you have all bolts out. their is one down very low to frame. sex viper is correct. that inner case should come off all intact. may need to pry or tap some with a rubber mallet. now also be careful there is a key on that shaft. those snap rings are not the hold up. 3:16 (yammie tony)

how many 14mm headed bolts did you take out of the chaincase to frame?

I think I got it. I took off the clutch side bolts on the jackshaft and everything pulled out so I could get the driveshaft in. I replaced the bearing on the jackshaft clutchside but am waiting to find some extra hands to get a new bearing on the driveshaft. I think so far that stupid bracket on the pbrake has pissed me off the most. I'm on my way though.
