a little out of my world with this one. A friend came over, tons of white smoke, coolant level down. Pulled head, don't see a problem with the head gaskets, any other known problems or where to look?

Does that model have the heated carbs?

its probably a rare thing, but, could it be possible that a carb could be leaking coolant into a cylinder? It's prob not the case, but it might be something to check if you're looking.
