Hey guys! I just bought some new upgrades for my 2000 sxr 700. I have the sno stuff rumble pack and v force 3 reeds and a bender racing clutch. I also bought a rebuild kit for my engine(700 redhead). I'm looking to split the head gasket but I do not know which one to use after I split it. Which one of the 3 pieces should I use? I assume the middle flat one but just to be safe I want to double check. Also what is the torque specs for the jugs and the head? Thanks!

I believe the middle one is a spacer. I believe that one gets thrown out and you use the other 2. A single head gasket requires race gas and to have the head milled for squish if I have read right in the past.

I prefer to have the head milled .020. I have done this on nearly all of the Red Head tripples we have. This does two things, squares up the head to deck and boost compression squish. The center layor measures .020. I like having the sealing properties of the tripple layor gasket. Al

Thanks for the responses. Good thing I posted this because I would have used the spacer!
