Was out riding with a buddy yesterday, he has an 01 SXR 700. Temp light would flash every once and a while but sled didn't appear to be overheating, he said it seemed like the light would come on more when riding over bumps, what would cause this?
wires are breaking down where they enter the plug for the temp sensor. next time it happens, wiggle the harness leading to the sensor. code should be 1 long followed by 3 short flashes. seems to be a common issue. yamaha had at once made the parts available for a repair but they have been discontinued. i have done several and they suck to fix.
