Just wondering if anyone here has made their own drop brackets to raise their rear suspension. I love the looks of the vipers when they are up high in the back. Is there any drawbacks to using them? Thanks

People have made them yess. I used the cbperformance ones and although it looked better and worked better in deep snow i always seemed to have to much ski pressure for my liking. Ditched the whole setup for an edge skid this year. 10x better and well worth the $350 it cost me.

If I remember correctly the CP brackets are $100....I think that's a bit much for 2 simple pieces of steel. But you are right, a newer style skid would be nice

I made mine one set out of 6061 aluminum and another out of 7075. I like the 7075 better as it resists hole egging better. Other guys use Stainless, or Chrome Moly. The ones I made out of steel I don't like because they have to be painted, bu they work fine. When you drop the rear you also need to drop the front of the skid (a lesser amount) to keep the balance and avoid the heavy ski pressure mentioned above.
Here is a pic of some I like . . .

I made a set out of 1/4" x 4" aluminum flat. was pretty easy to make and I paid under 20.00 for it.Here's the best pic I could find of them.

Thanks for the pics guys. Does the tunnle have to be drilled in order to mount the bracket? I assume there would be 2 more holes to be drilled on either side...

Youd want to drill some more holes to mount the plate yes. I recommend using small bolts instead of rivets
