First ride of the season. Cleaned out the carbs they had not been done in two years. Not horrible but needed to be cleaned. Now I have a sluggish throttle from idle to about 3k. Idle is not hanging. Engine just sounds and feels fat til I get to 3K rpm. Other than that she runs great. Starts right up. Air screws are at 2 turns out. What did I do?

Choke hanging open a bit?

If it is sluggish from being too rich, wait a day or two until this arctic cold blast settles in and try 'er then, might be perfect! j/k

This is probably a bit of a reach, but if your having really cold weather is your carb heater turned on ? Maybe some icing in the pilots is possible.

Wanted to get back to everyone. I have cleaned these carbs many times. It turns out to be a couple of things. Yes the choke was on slightly. Just enough to make it sluggish in combination with turning up the idle to 1800 rpm. Idle was low. I guess this comes from taking the carb rack in and out to clean them up. After warming it up real good and checking twice this seems to have done the trick. I will clean the powervalves this week.

Thank you guys for all your help! Now if I can track down the flashing heat temp sensor I would be all set. I think I need to run down a bad bar warmer or thumb warmer. Someone posted this a while back. I will let you know.
