As far as gearing, 21 top, 37 bottom stock. Changed to 8 tooth anti-ratcheting sprockets. I am running a 136" X 1" hacksaw track with 1.25 studs down the center. Custom hand made tunnel extension. Camoplast 7" Powder All-Terrain skis , 8" magnum carbides from john master. Xtra-10 suspension setup per jb shocks. Optional reverse kit installed. I have major track spin, something I did not expect with this track. I also found out today, I basically cannot turn. If I use drop brackets in rear, bout 3" it turns, but is difficult to muscle it. Should I have raised my gearing cause of the smaller drivers? Anybody chime in with experience would be extremely helpful.

Start by raising that lower to a 42 or 43. How many 1.25s ya running?

lets do the math here. the difference between 8t drivers and 9t drivers is about a 12 1/2% change to a lower ratio. so if you have 21/37 in there now, that would be a 1.76:1 ratio. mathematically speaking, 1.76x12.5%=.38. add that to 1.76 and your gearing is now apprx 2.14:1.
now you need to decide where you want to be with the 136 track. the 136 sleds from your vintage came out with 20/27 gearing or a 1.85:1 ratio. you may consider this as an option. to get there, you would need a gear set of 23/38 and a longer chain i believe. problem may be finding either of those gears.
grab your calculator, run some numbers, and see what combos you can come up with to get back to where you want to be. remember when selecting new gear ratios to factor in chain length and also factor in that most of those sleds were probably overgeared by about 8-10%. good luck!

for your other issues, if you drop the front suspension arm down about 1/2 to 5/8" from where it is now, it will even things up on the weight bias and relieve the front pressure.

As far as studs, I think it was 96 just down the center. 23/38 is the gearing I decided to go with, but now my 72 link chain definitely will not fit. I can't seem to find any chain longer. Worst case scenario, I have 2 chains, could maybe splice in a few links.... Forgot to mention it has the gyt pipe, clutched to Yamaha spec for their pipe.

dont even consider splicing as an option. rethink your gearing. look at 21/35 or 20/33 with a 70 link chain. you can do 21/37 with your 72.
