Last spring I picked up this sled and rode it a little bit.I'm just an old guy looking for something for groomed trails and with the tall windshield and reverse to get off the trailer this seems perfect. After a summer storage I'm back out on but the steering is really really hard, like it takes all my strength to move the handle bars. I don't recall this condition last spring. The only other sled I've ever owned was an older RMK and I recall there was a strap that was adjusted to put more or less weight on the skiis. I don't have a manual yet for the venture. Is there an adjustment I should be looking at or is it more likely a lubrication issue?? The steering does seem to loosen up a little bit after a while but it never really seems to get the way I remember. Are there other things I should be looking at?

We have the same issue on our 92 venture, it does go away relatively quick once you start to ride. I'm thinking the guy before us may have used a summer grade grease? Probably worse for you in AK than for us in SW Ontario as you likely see consistently colder temperature? Great machine otherwise, we have over 10,000 miles on ours now!

I was wrong, after taking carbs out, I notice that steering column is in a nylon bushing. I guess I was used to the way Polaris has grease fittings down there!
