Until i can get another 23t top gear all i have is a 21t. This is stock chain and gears from a venture but is this amount of bend on the chain acceptable?

What are you running for a bottom gear? I have been doing a bunch of research and just got into my chaincase myself to gear it down. That's what mine looked like, with 21/39 gears in a mountain max. The break point it 60/61 teeth for a 68/70L chain. With my current setup the sled still had the stock 70l chain from before the reverse kit was put in when it had 21/40 gears. The slack adjuster was all stroked out and the bearing in the roller was seized. I don't know if it was from being over tight, lack of maintenance or the bend being too tight but I wouldn't run it like that again. I'm going to be at 20/39 with a 68L chain when it all goes back together. I will take pics of what the chain looks like.

im not really in the mood to drop another $100 on a 68L chain. Im not sure how many teeth are on the bottom sprocket but i will count tomorrow. What kind of play should the chain have between links? It come out of a 500fan with low miles but it seems to have a bit of play in it. I think it may be stretched.

I ordered my chain case parts from Ronniesmailorder.com. The 68l chain listed for $41.... I got it for $36.... Right off the fiche so it's oem. All the parts I needed were out in their warehouse. Said 3-4 days from the yammi dist then next day to me since we're both in mass.

Your sled is going to pull HARD being geared down that little bit. I bet you really like it.

just took her from town to town and its been raining all week and what was 4-5ft of awesome powder is now rock hard bumps. Just plain depressing...And to make it worst alot more rain and warm weather coming the weekend. And I thought this was January! Not sure if I like the 21t because theres no traction but my 23t should be here fri.

Should be fine till you get your 23. It's not only about rolling resistance. The more bend the more stress on the chain and therefore a shorter life expectancy but it will no doubt hold together for thousands of miles. Oem hyvos are a buck an quarter, not sure on the silents but I can't imagine they are that much cheaper, but maybe.

I just ordered a oem 68L chain for $36. They are not that expensive.
Mine here in Northern Il is $45 at a Yamaha dealer. Your gettin scr3wed at $100. Cripe, even if ya got a phone number for the US Yamaha dealer that is closest to you mailing location, I'm quite sure postage wouldn't be $55-65.Would it???? I know prices up there are :horsehock
