Good morning folks. My father bought me an 89 Ovation brand new in the Spring of 1990. I put many miles on that sled - up till the point where I left home for College. My father stored my sled away and recently surprised me with it (thinking that he got rid of it a while back). Its in pristine shape, but does need some TLC after sitting for so many years. My 5 year old son simply loves it, so we've decided to make this a project.
The one thing that I need to address is a while back the dealer that did the spring service on my sled (after I had left for College) broke the mount on the carb where the oil cable screws into. They 'patched' it with glue and wire. Needless to say, I would have pushed them to replace the whole carb but my father didn't push the matter.
At any rate, short of replacing the carb or removing the oil injection system all together (and mixing my gas), any ideas as to how I can securely fasten that cable back onto the carb?
