I'm replacing the Keihin carb on my daughter's ET250 with a Mikuni VM34. I have all of the info I need to order the parts except for the precise jets that I'll need. I'm in Western PA, elevation 1200 ft. I've been told I should get something around #210 to #220 for the main, and #30 to #50 for the pilot. Dennis Kirk sells them in pairs of two each for $5.99. I'd rather not order a range of jets in pairs of two each as I would end up with a number of jets I would never use. I realize that it might be a "trial and error" situation, but if somebody out there has any expertise on this topic and knows what I'll need........... I'm all ears!!!

Do a search and you should find a couple old posts on this topic with good info.

I'm at a similar elevation in southwestern Ontario. I'm running a 30 pilot with 210 main, with a one piece UNI air filter. It's a bit boggy in the bottom end, I suspect the pilot could go down to a 25. Overall it's MUCH better than with the stock carb and I'm happy with how it's running. I'd rather be on the rich side of good than lean.

I too, am running a #30 pilot, but I've got a 220 main. Also have the UNI air filter. I need to do a little work on my engine mounts and I need to replace the drive belt. Then, I'll know what kind of power, pickup, etc., that it has.
That Keihin carb was the devil's spawn!!! Couldn't make it work worth a darn!! This Mikuni seems to be loaded with power from the factory. Much, much, better.
