Just got a 94 vmax 600 and can only start it and keep it running (rough) if I cover the air box. This thing has been sitting for a real long time.

clean em carbs!! probably the right about of air, but not enough fuel. bet you the pilot jet is clogged.
How did you make out? Was it just the carbs needed cleaning?
