I had a ET300 and a GS340
It's been 25yrs since I've owned either but if memory serves me, you have to remove the cooling shroud and the cc's will be stamped to the side of the top end of the motor. Other than that, I don't remember being a difference.

+1 on that.
The engine size is cast into the PTO side jug at its base. If it not all covered in oil/belt dust, it should be easy to make out without having to take anything apart.
