I sold my srx last Friday and drove through a snowstorm to pick up an 06 mxz last Sunday and it is showroom clean. Not even a sign of corrosion.
Came with rear tote, extra carbides, canvas cover and a Team SkiDoo set of leathers. I'm happy with my purchase.
The suspension and reverse were worth the money alone.
Due to so much snow and broke down groomers I wasnt able to get out for a good ride until this past Friday.
First complaint to my buddies was the lack of power the 600 makes. Second was trying to learn how to ride the newer style chassis through the corners. Scary at first, but I caught on after about 50 miles of bush.
Third is the seating position. My knees were killing me. Thing needs some highway pegs.
So after 100 miles or so we ran into a group of newer Yamahas including 2 new Vipers, a couple Nytro's and one old 02 srx.
The srx followed me home, I paid the man next to nothing and gave him a ride home.
An hour later I stretched out on the srx enjoying the hp.

the headlight is a giant improvement alone going from a 98 to a 02, isnt it? I always felt like the 98-99 could outrun the headlight beam....lol
Yeah, thats a huge improvement. Could barely see anything with that light, even though I was younger then and proably had better night vision. The new headlamp is head and shoulders over the old.

Honestly I havent noticed the headlight being better, but my last sled was an RXL and it outrun the headlight at 60mph and was yellow even in the bush. I relied on my buddy to stay on my bumper so I could see where I was going.
Things like lighting and suspension were always insignificant luxuries when I was younger. lol

Which 600 is it? You can get a nice improvement in acceleration by dropping the small gear by 1 tooth. I had an 05 MXZ last season and loved the seating position, but I'm back on Yamaha now this year.

It's the SS Trail. May as well play with it for torque, because top end is lacking from the get go. It studded up the middle, so I can put down more torque than it has now.
