i have installed new front suspension control arms on my 1997 vmax 700 sx. the control arms are from royal distributing. the control arms have made my ski stance wider.
1.. will i have any problems with the wider ski stance?
2.. do i have to buy new front suspension shocks?

You will need the longer steering rods. You dont need longer shocks but your sled is gona be very low to the ground without.

i noticed the front was lower after i installed the longer control arms.
where can i order the longer steering rods?

Im not 100% sure on if you can get em long enough with the adjustability they have but really you want the proper ones. Try looking on ebay, local scrapyard, or even on sites like this. If not i think your only option is oem

tie rod lengths:

models with 7" front suspension travel and 40.9" ski stance 8CV-23831-00-00 441.6mm long
9" front travel and 42.1" ski stance 8CR-23831-00-00 454.2mm length
models with 38.6 ski stance and 6.7" travel 8CS-23831-00-00(mtn sleds) 411.5mm long

your stockers on the 97 would fall into the first category at 441.6mm as would the srx. why not just get the correct parts? or did you want to widen the stance?

I thought the Royal distributing parts would fit:o| . but they are wider
the control rods are installed already. and it does seem to corner a little flatter.
what is the part number for the longer steering rods?
i will buy them and try it out.

thanks for all the reply's ;)!
