Will changing out a 1.25 to a 1-1/2" track affect my clutching? Currently i can only hit 8100 rpm's. Check and adjusted powervalves, cleaned carbs, checked reeds. Servo motor is working correctly. It is driving me crazy that i cant find the problem. My clutches are warm after a long pull. Sled does run good in all rpm ranges but wont go past 8100rpm's. What am i missing that i didnt look at ?

On a second note, the inside sheave of the primary was hot and the outside one was warm, the secondary was warm on both plates. Could the belt be the culprit to my loss of rpm's?

One of the clutching experts will chime in I'm sure but first question would be what are you running for weight in your Hellclickers? Is your belt glazed at all?

5 grams heel, 3.4 center and 4.3 tip in weights with red primary spring, and then use the red yamaha secondary spring at 70. I am also using 15mm rollers. belt has a slight glaze to it.

check for any play in the primary, i am pretty damn sure that is my culprit on my sled right now. Its really really been aggravating me and my sled only pulls to 8100 too. Sled runs great other then that. carbs are good, really good compression and power valves work great. good luck

put on a brand new 8dn belt and retest the rpm as you had it before.

I took the mbrp pipe off just to see if that was causing a problem. Well it was. Put the stock can on and 8600rpm's all day long. Take stocker off and used two layers of headerwrap on the mbrp can, same result 8100rpm's. So i believe the can is shot and is losing to much heat and back pressure resulting in the loss of 500rpm's.

you just proved to not only yourself but others the built in dyno on your sled(tach) is telling you your losing power with the aftermarket exhaust can!
you could try repacking it and see if it helps any but i wouldnt be suprised if it was still low on rpm some.

I will keep everyone posted after i re-pack the mbrp can. The can actually has to be cut open , which i think was dumb in the first place.

Want to sell me the can before you cut it open?

UPDATE: got the can cut open and repacked. she stunk for a lil while but I did get my rpms back. the packing was just about gone, no wonder it lost heat so fast.
