51/43 Helix, 8-ca weights 0.8g in tip, 2-3 engagement shims, stock spring primary, silver secondary, 1 or 2 layers removed from head gasket and 20/40 gearing. Jetting: 140 mains

My issue is the weights. The 8CAs that I bought used, someone tacked the inner rivet in. Then ground/sanded down flat. An empty weight weighs 42.8 grams. These weigh 45.57 giving me an inner weight of 2.77 grams(basically) on the inside.
What will this more than likely do. As I was only going to put 0.8g in the tips. The inner rivets are tight too.

wow that sucks a 600 wont pull that weight being it needed .80 in tip only way to fix it put in a bridgeport mill and try redrill in oe hole.

They can still work, youll need a primary spring with more tension then stock. Stock 99 600sx spring is y/g/y 40/123kg. I see Turk was using a couple spring shims so thats riases the shift tension as well, youd likely need to try it with a green/green/green 40/131kg or a pink/green/pink, which is a 40/139kg see if you get to 8500rpm with rest of the set up.

if i had to guess, buy the pink/grren/pink first!

you could add the .8 to the tip still ,should be close. report back the rpm after you get the new front spring in there.

Well , my son doesn't really want to change his clutch set-up on his 99 SX6 . Would this set-up be ok for a 96 xt(twin). The 51/43 is a 8bvfa(RX1).

This is cut and pasted from Turk...."8bvfa is a 51/43 helix but in reality it shifts closer to a 48/42".
