The rollers in my clutch are junk. I call my buddy at Yamaha and he said he could get me new ones for $80. Does anyone know of aftermarket ones that are not $80 for some small metal pieces?
it is what it is ,there is no aftermarket rollers that I have heard of!

I use these good quality... maybe no cheaper though...I know they fit my 2002 SRX and my Apex...not sure if your 96 takes the 9mm rollers though...

Thanks for the info. I think my best bet is just buy them from Yamaha.

Bushings in the rollers can be replaced if the rollers themselves are ok. Much cheaper.

Search the Yamaha part# on Ebay. That is were I have been finding the best prices on this type of stuff. No aftermarket rollers out there that I have ever seen.
PS: If the roller are junk there is a good chance the cams and slide buttons are worn out too.
I tried just replaciing my worn rollers at about 5,000 miles and learned my lesson because they keep wearing out again in a few hundred miles. I finally rebuilt the whole thing myself and I'm at almost 9,000 now without having to touch it again.
So are the rollers easy to install? I have the same issue currently with one of them. My secondary is making a "clicking" sound once in a while.

The rollers and weights are easy to install. No special tools needed. Just remove the belt and the primary cover. The weights and rollers are each held in with one bolt on each of them.
On some primaries a very small Allen wrench is needed to loosen up the set screws that hold the sleeves in place.
Like I said before, worn slide buttons accelerate the wear on the rollers and weights.
