I've been gone for a couple years but have been lurking around. Wife and I sold our Vector and Apex RTX three years ago. Killed me. The old saying never know how much you appreciate something till its gone. I realized I was going to have to pick up a used sled. I decided to go old school. Picked up a 2000 SRX with 5700 miles on it and was the perfect project sled. Everything I did to it I learned from this site and I thank you. The previous owner was a sled mechanic and had gone through the motor from bot to top and as I found out everything was as he said it would be. Great guy to deal with. Starting from the front: replaced front bushings, flipped front shocks and rotated mounts to gain front end height, repainted radius rods, vector skis with srx mounts (don't ask but it worked), rerouted throttle cable for 3" rox risers, powermad hand guards with extensions, higher windshield, boss seat, led rear tail light, and air wave suspension. There are other items but you get the idea. Never had so much fun on a project. oh and painted tunnel and rear bumper and existing flap as well as stripping trailing arms and painting as well. Good to be back!

Thanks guys! Its amazing what you can do when you don't have any snow! With the seat and suspension Ive shaved 40 lbs off the the sled. The coolest thing is the led tail light. Its an auto third brake light high (the ones in the top of rear windows) and brighter than hell. Cant wait for snow! And its mid January

wow, what a beautiful sled, happy for you, welcome to the dark side with your new beast

When I repainted the tunnel I masked off the existing decals. Then when I mounted the airwave of course the rear mounting plate bisected the decal. So the answer was to paint the mounting plate and re apply a reflective decal to match the existing. I think I got it close so you don't really notice the air wave mount plate.

Absolutely! Went back to smoking! Loved the apex rtx. Five seasons not one problem. But you have to love the classics! Got in the great state of Maine probably 70 miles north of you.
